On Sunday, February 19th at 4:00 pm, Americana Unplugged presents at the Greenwood School in Austin, TX a special performance by Louis "Cowboy" Johnson and Amanda Pearcy.
Louis "Cowboy" Johnson’s life story is
written in the lines in his face and in the lines of his songs. He “grew up
fast, and hard, and somewhat bitter”, hitch hiking as barely a teen during
the Summer of Love to San Francisco from his hometown in Solano County, to
being in the driver’s seat making runs to Juarez, Mexico from South Dakota. Amanda Pearcy’s soulful, sometimes country-leaning, Americana music took root in her hardscrabble story of a less than idyllic childhood, early motherhood, and disastrous marriages. But for one who’s come from such distressing beginnings, Amanda spreads an unexpectedly sunny gospel of survival and hope.
Early discount tickets for Greenwood parents will be $10 if purchased by Feb. 4th at the Greenwood School ONLY. Until February 16, advance tickets will be $13. Beginning February 17th tickets (if available) will be $15. Our mission is to support singer/song writers while providing Greenwood parents an opportunity to enjoy quality live music with minimum interruptions and at a reasonable cost.
The
Greenwood School will offer a children’s
program from 3:30-6:00. Quiet children will be allowed to sit with their
parents. The children’s program will include interesting and engaging
activities such as cooking, story time, art, nutritious snack and free play.
All children ages 18 months and older must pay for a concert ticket with the
option of staying with parents or joining the children’s program.
